Budget Workshop!!

In a recent Mosquito Abatement District Meeting at the Timbermine  Restaurant, The Board started the discussion of the Budget for the 2013 Budget Year.

After reviewing the figures and the TAX DOLLARS collected from YOU the residents of WEBER COUNTY, it is clear that THIS taxing agency is collecting too much MONEY!

I made a motion to REDUCE the amount of taxes collected by $150,000.  I could not even get a second to discuss the matter.

I have also suggested that we change the work schedule and SAVE Weber County residents over $75,000, of which, we don't receive ONE MINUTE of labor for.

I suggested that we move away from a FULL-TIME pilot at over $55,000 year and go to a contract pilot at about $2,500 a month which would save somewhere around $45,000 for the residents.

This Board of Trustees is made up by a representative from each township, appointment by the Mayor of each, and a County Supervisor that represents the unincorporated area of the county.

I will continue to push for tax savings.

Yours in service,
Toby Mileski, Pleasant View City Councilman/Weber County Mosquito Abatement District Board Member.
