Results of January Meeting - CHANGES!!

CHANGES - CHANGES - CHANGES!!

After one year of work on the Board of Trustees, some major changes have occurred!

First:  5 Board Members have been changed/replaced!
A few of the aforementioned have been seated for over 30 YEARS!

Second:  The Director of the district employed for 51 YEARS, offered his resignation for retirement, which
was accepted by the Board of Trustees, and an interim replacement was selected until the next
               meeting in February.

Third:  It was agreed upon to form a committee to move forward with the hiring process and develop a plan
           for a replacement director.

What's Next you are thinking??  Well, I will list my agenda of things to cover in the following meetings:
     1.  Address the FULL TIME $55,000+ a year pilot - and propose a contract - part-time position
potentially saving the Weber County Tax Payers $40,000!
     2.  Currently the work schedule is March 15 to September 30.  14 hours days (M-F) with overtime pay,
Saturdays with over time pay, and by my calculations it is over $79,000 in over-time paid with out
     receiving a minute of labor.
     3.  At the first budget meeting in the summer, I will AGAIN propose to LOWER the tax rate on your
Weber County Property Tax Bill to save the tax payers money.  I hope this year, I at least get a second
     on my motion!

  1. I noticed you mentioned 2 times now that they are getting paid $75-79,000 a year in overtime. You mention we the tax payers are not getting "one minute of labor". What do you mean by that? are they getting paid for staying at home?
Also does the board get paid?

    1. That is correct, they are allowed to work overtime and bank those hours. They are allowed to work an 8 hour shift, then a 6 hour shift (paid at 9 hours - 3 extra) from March 15 to September 30, bank those overtime hours and get paid all year!
Yes, the board is paid $20 per meeting plus mileage, my check for 2012 was apx $355, which I donated to the Pleasant View City Police Department for the shop with a cop program and officer appreciation.
